Bend, so you don’t break

“Spirit hides its teachings in paws, wings and whispering winds.”

Before you begin, I invite you to:
close your eyes,
turn your focus within
& take 3 long, slow
, deep breaths.

BREATHE

Welcome, beautiful soul…

This next fortnight is FULL with the winds of change - from subtle whispers… to a rising howl… to a mighty roar.

Chandra (Moon) reaches her fullest expression May 1st in Swati Nakshatra ~ ruled by Vayu, God of the Wind, and symbolized by a blade of grass.

Its message is one of humility, flow, and flexibility—
and also great strength and alignment.

Grass medicine invites us to walk the Earth in quiet reverence for Nature’s wisdom.

With each step, it bends low—
cushioning the blow,
moving with what comes,
never resisting the moment it is in.

Pause here.

Feel your body.

Where are you holding… instead of softening?

The blade of grass survives because it does not resist.

It moves with life.

And yet—this is not weakness.
This is strength.

To bend in the face of pressure…
to soften when everything in you wants to brace…
to remain open when it would be easier to close — this takes courage.

This is alignment. This is love in motion…

Libra, ruled by Venus, is an incredibly loving sign. Full of goodwill, forever seeking fairness and justice for all.

A beautiful and necessary energy for the world we live in.

And yet, part of the great cosmic dance is to lose our balance at times, so that we may learn how to find it again.

Evolution is an upward spiral, not a straight line.

If we cling too tightly to the idea that there is only one way,
eventually… we break.

Nature shows us this.

Evolution expresses through diversity. Storms come and blow things apart, and in doing so, clear what has become stuck and stagnant.

For what is wind, but Prana itself?
Life force.
Consciousness in motion.

There is a brilliance within Nature that is so profound & intelligent, it is easily taken for granted.

This space we are born into is not empty.
It is a living field, vibrating with awareness, intelligence, and prana.

Space connects. And when it begins to move, it has something to say.

This Full Moon is preparing us for a potent and auspicious New Moon on May 16th. Its trine aspects brings with it the energies of Rahu and Jupiter.

Rahu is desire… creativity, innovation, the power to manifest. The kind of wind that can change everything.

Jupiter is expansion… grace, abundance, wisdom… the ether. The great guru of our solar system. The great benevolent space holder who allows life to unfold in time.

So the question becomes,

Where are your desires arising from?

If desire is informed by the soul’s innate wisdom, guided by Spirit and grounded in Nature with humility, creation expands.

From the yogic perspective, desire is not the problem. Desire is part of Natural Law.

But its origin matters.

Desires born of ego create friction, drama, suffering.
Desires born of soul create alignment, synchronicity, beauty, and abundance.

Tune into that.

FOCUS

Vayu (wind) expresses in many ways.

It can carry us forward along the path
or, scatter the mind.

Just as wind carries seeds across the Earth,
if we are ungrounded, uncentered,
that same Shakti can scatter our prana
in too many directions at once..
leaving us drained &
unfulfilled.

Wind requires focus.
Direction. And that direction comes from within.
 From connection.

Ekargrataha,
the yogic practice of one-pointedness.

Focus.
 Concentration.
 Follow through.

Essential for success in any endeavour.. be it
meditation, work or relationship. Without it,
 we lose connection.

In Dwarpara Yuga, this age of technology, information and disinformation,
distraction has become one of humanity’s greatest challenges.

Which is why, from the yogic perspective,
 meditation is medicine.

A fundamental practice
that returns us to centre. To what modern science calls the zero point,
the singularity.

Source’s river,
 whose flow is consciousness itself.

Acausal.

No beginning.

Endless.

Infinite.

Infinity is not something the mind can fully grasp. But in contemplating it,
 something opens.

In deep practice,
 it can be experienced,
even if it cannot be explained.

This Full Moon whispers a quiet truth… what bends… does not break. So, trust the movement,
even when it feels unfamiliar. This is yoga.

At the same time, Surya (Sun) is exalted in Aries,
transiting Bharani Nakshatra. Symbolized by the yoni, this is a potent energy for breakthroughs,
new beginnings, and the birthing of something deeply soulful.

So ask yourself,

What is your soul trying to show you right now?

If you don’t yet know,
create stillness.
 Find silence. Ask.

The guidance will come,
if we are willing to listen.

This month invites balance in all relationships,
including your relationship with the Earth.

With the ground beneath our feet.
With the grass that holds you. There are blessings here,
closer than you think but, we must be present enough
 to receive them.

The challenges you face are not the problem.

The question is,

Can you bend low enough
to receive the lesson within them?

Can you release your grip on outcome and allow the path to unfold with each step taken?

Because right there… is the sweet spot.

The teaching of Swati. The quiet power
of surrender to the flow.

Perhaps it is time to walk a new path.

Perhaps your path is merging with another.

Perhaps it is time to release your creativity into the wind, and trust Spirit to carry the seeds where they are meant to land.

Whatever it is,
now is the time to act.

To follow that deep, soulful desire.
 That quiet intuition.
That nudge you keep feeling,
calling you just beyond your comfort zone.

Because this is how we grow.

One step is enough.

Write your intention down.
 Visualize.
 Wander & wonder.

Even five minutes in stillness
can shift your entire state of consciousness.

That first step creates a ripple in the field
and the winds will carry it forward
far beyond what you can see.

You already know where change is calling you for only you can hear the whispers of your own soul. Are you listening?

Step outside.
Connect with Nature,
because that is what you are.

Allow Spirit to speak. There is great magic in the ethers.

Let it fill your sails with inspiration
and allow the wind to carry you
toward the life you know is waiting.

The key is in the bending.

Small keys… open big doors.

“Spirit hides its teachings in paws, wings and whispering winds.”

The answers & insights we seek are always all around us if we are willing to tune in & listen. The invitation is to slow down & observe while taking action in the direction you feel called to explore. Ultimately, you are the path & the path is you… we may guide each other along the journey but no one can tell you what is right for you. That is the work.

Let me close with the following wonder -

Where in your life are you being asked to bend.. instead of brace?

Where are you resisting the very movement that is trying to support you?

Life is not here to break you.

But it will ask you to soften.

And in that softening - you will find your strength.

I thank you for being here now… and, in honour of the Wind, if this letter resonates & you should feel charmed to forward this letter to a friend, may the wind carry it forward with love & reverence for this great journey we share.

With so much love & gratitude,
Walking each other home,
christina xxx
