Meditating in the Himalayas
Christina Erl, Jyotishi, Yogi, Writer, Teacher

A little about my journey…

I was initiated into yoga in my early 20s. What began as a path of seeking gradually became a way of living.

After decades of practice, I felt called to India, where I received direct initiation into the ancient Himalayan lineage of Kriya Yoga. In the foothills of the Himalayas, I have spent many months immersed in study and inner transformation at the Sattva Ashram.

There, I was also initiated into Jyotish—the Science of Light, or “the Eye of the Veda”—as well as Tantric teachings and Vedic Meditation, receiving a personal mantra within a living lineage.

These teachings opened a deeper understanding of life, karma, purpose and consciousness—not only as philosophy, but as something to be lived and embodied.

My path has been shaped as much by direct experience as by formal study. Time in Nature, along with humble engagement with plant medicine traditions, has deepened my relationship with the intelligence that moves through all things. I hold these as sacred teachers, approached with respect and reverence.

With many years in the healing arts, I continue to integrate these streams into a grounded, embodied path. To me, yoga is both an art of living and a science of consciousness—powerful medicine for healing and evolution.

Supporting others on their path has been a lifelong calling.

Today, I offer Himalayan Kriya Yoga classes, Vedic Meditation initiation, workshops, retreats, Jyotish readings, writing, mentorship programs, and one-to-one soul sessions—each an invitation into deeper awareness, alignment, and connection.

YOGA is
the Science of Consciousness

I have spent my life studying, practicing, living and breathing yoga as a spiritual science and art. Having personally experienced and many times witnessed, the power of these ancient wisdom teachings to transform someone’s life, it has become a deep passion of mine to bring more depth and authenticity to our understanding of yoga in the West.

Yoga asana is indeed a wonderful and healthy physical practice, but yoga is also so much more. Yoga is fundamentally about our state of consciousness and its evolution. It is part of my work to bring more of the Yog-Vedantic, Himalayan Kriya and Tantric traditions of yoga to genuine hearts in search of their Divine truth and dharma.

The Vedic Sciences of Yoga, Meditation and Jyotish are meant to help us evolve as eternal souls & live in harmony with the Laws of Nature, Spirit, our highest dharma.

Karma ~ Kriya ~ Dharma

Yoga is the Science of Consciousness. It is through self-realization that we are able to truly heal, liberate and live our highest potential. Jyotish helps us to see ourselves clearly from the deepest level of soul and as an integral aspect of the Yog-Vedantic tradition, offers us clarity, technologies and tools for overcoming any challenge in life.

The wisdom of light is yoga and of these most ancient and wisdom-filled traditions, Jyotish is known as the “Science of Light” because it offers us a direct window into the light of the soul and the cosmic journey each and every one of us is on.

Please contact me directly if you are interested in receiving a Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) reading and / or initiation into your own personal Sadhana practice for healing and personal growth, transformation and evolution.

You can find me online, in studios, workshops, retreats, writing and 1-on-1 healing sessions. My deepest and most heartfelt intention is of bringing transformation and healing for expansion, evolution and joy.
