Nervous System Healing Practice

Truth be told, Himalayan Kriya Yoga is a sacred lineage of ancient shamanic healing techniques ~ it is yoga as the Divine Science of Consciousness… yoga, as it was intended to be ~ to help us live in harmonious alignment with the Earth, Nature, each other, the elements, Soul, Spirit, Source and ALL our relations. Kriya Yoga is an ancient science, practice and technology, a way of living that elevates, tunes and refines our state of consciousness. These practices help heal our bodies, minds and spirit and in this particular practice I share a simple series of Kriyas that deeply healing, meditative and focused on the breath.
The mind and the breath are intimately and directly connected. Scattered, erratic breathing creates a scattered, erratic mind and vice versa. Breathing is a function of the body which we can choose to be conscious and aware of or, we can be unconscious and unaware and the body will do it for us ~ either way, how we breathe deeply reflects our state of consciousness. These practices are intelligently designed to help us tune into our breath, calm the mind, release stress & anxiety, and reset our nervous system by realigning breath and mind through precise and gently guided pranayama techniques.
This class will take your nervous system out of the sympathetic, “fight-or-flight” stressed state and bring it into a parasympathetic, “rest & repair” state so that you can do exactly that ~ REST & REPAIR. Tuning YOU in to yourself for a while so you can tune out of the all the noise, the distractions and the chaos of the world. We ALL need this and the result is healing, centring, grounding, greater clarity, improved intelligence, expanded self-awareness, strength and capacity for living day to day life with more ease, grace and joy.

Below are some notes for preparing for the class:
Sit comfortably in a meditation posture ~ half lotus or sukasana ~ with your hips elevated on a cushion or, sit on your knees in vajrasana, with your hips elevated on a cushion. You may also sit on a chair with your feet on the floor as long as your spine is straight and you are not leaning against anything.
This is a seated practice with eyes closed most of the time.
Always listen to your body ~ challenge is good, pain is not.
The class opens with 3 rounds of OM and begins immediately.
Find a quiet space where you won’t be distracted.
Use headphones if you wish.
Turn off your notifications for the duration of the practice.
Upon completion, do not rush to move on. Meditate longer if you feel called.
